Linda Fowler, LCSW
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) who holds a BA from the University of Michigan and a Master of Social Work (MSW) and Certificate in Aging Studies from Virginia Commonwealth University.
I have maintained a private counseling practice in Lynchburg since 2010. Before starting my own practice, I provided outpatient therapy for a diverse clientele for Region Ten Community Services Board, a nonprofit agency headquartered in Charlottesville, Virginia. My experience is broad-based in terms of populations served, mental health diagnoses and issues.Particular interests include trauma work, women's issues and issues relevant to the LGBTQ+ community.
I describe myself as a holistic practitioner who employs multiple traditional and complementary techniques in order to best meet client needs. First and foremost, however, I am an empathic counselor. Research tells us that, more than a particular theory, strategy or skill set, it is the relationship between client and therapist that makes for a positive, growth-enhancing experience.
